Self portrait Tuesday- Black and white

This month’s self portrait challenge is black and white. I love black and white photos, they are amazing and have a crisp clean quality to them that I find refreshing.

However, in life I find that there are very few things that are black and white. It would be much easier to navigate life’s trials and tribulations if the answers really were black and white and clear.

I am living in a world of grey. At the moment it is a challenge to tell the difference between the grey scales of choices I am confronted with. You can think about a situation, marinate on it, rage at it, cry about it, celebrate it, accept it and still, things are a bit grey.

I guess at the end of the day, I have learned to celebrate the grey. Black and white, while beautiful is a bit extreme. We can all come a bit closer together and meet in the grey.

PS: Thank you Boho, for all you do! I love you!

oh, such beautiful, raw, intimate, creative, unique portraits of you here, Leth.

and i truly agree with you about life not being black and white. i have never believed it can be that simple. there is always more to something than it seems and much of it is dancing among the grey tones.

this is very thought provoking and so very beautiful.

love you,
den

Your world of gray is certainly not subdued in its beauty! Your photos capture different tones in you, starting from gentle and going all the way to bold! I love it! Thanks for the insightful analogy and beautiful images.

These portraits truly gave me a moment's pause...so vulnerable and beautiful. The split technique made this a story. Nicely done.

I've always been the girl who could see all sides of the story. Even in the most outrageous human rights cases when I would love to be able to say "black" or "white" I can often see things are complex and layered and grey.

I love those photos so much, I feel deeply moved by them. I feel moved to go and sit by myself and give myself some tenderness and care.

I hope you did too.

Oh, and just to clarify, I was not trying to make my photo's look like the naughty kind :) I just couldn't get the angles right to cover up all the bits I didn't want to show.... didn't want to give you the wrong idea :)

Your photo's are perfect!

Yes, life is full of the grey...and I love your last line that we all meet in the grey...because we do at one time or another. I hope that you are feeling more at peace and thank you for sharing this all with us.
